My friend Sibby gave me today's word - Gamble. It's a great word for today because I was just making plans to go to Las Vegas for the American Library Association Conference! And, the last time I was in Vegas, I was with Sibby - and Jean and Patti! And, I just went to a casino last week with Sibby and Patti! Well, here goes nothing - I hope it's a winner!!

Some people go to Las Vegas to amble
and people-watch - man what a trip.
Some people go to Las Vegas to scramble
to hit every joint on the strip.
Me? I just go to Las Vegas to gamble,
I stay 'til I've lost every chip!
