Poetry Month - Day 7: Funambulist

Today's word, suggested by rhymer extraordinaire, Penny Klostermann, has me feeling a bit off balance. It's "Funambulist" and it was a tough one. I don't think I'd be able to write a good poem, not matter how much time I'd have, so I'm biting the bullet and posting it now. Please be kind :-)

Funambulist
“Get down from there!  I must insist!
You’re not a real funambulist!”

“Don’t worry, Mom, I’ve got good balance.
Watch me walk across this valance!”

“Careful, dear, you’ll crack your head!
You’ll have to spend a month in bed!”

“Oh, no I won’t.  I never fall.
Hey, look - I’ll balance on a ball!”

“My nerves are wracked.  I’m getting mad.
That’s it!  I’m gonna call your dad!”

“I’m guessing Dad won’t do a thing.
He’s Rick Wallenda - Tightrope King!”
